David Kleinberg, Biography
David Kleinberg (Performer/Writer) is a San Francisco native who was the editor of the San Francisco Chronicle’s Sunday Datebook for 14 years during a 34-year editing/writing career at the newspaper. As a solo theater artist, "Return to the Scene of the Crime" marks his third full work.
His acclaimed "Hey, Hey, LBJ", about his year as an amry combat correspondent in Vietnam, has been performed in Washingston DC, New York at the 42nd Street Theater, in Sydney, Australia and, under threat of arrest, in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The sequel to LBJ, "Return to the Scene of the Crime," makes its world debut in Washington DC in July.
Kleinberg was a writer and editor for the 25th Infantry Division while in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his work.
Kleinberg has also been a standup comedian for 10 years, appearing with Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Richard Lewis.
